Larry has uncanny creative instincts; he takes your ideas and takes it a step further along without trying to sell you a bill of goods. I recommend them to demanding clients who want it done right the first time and aren’t afraid of new ideas.

I had the proverbial contractor from hell who took advantage of my goodwill and (literally) ruined my interior. Larry and crew came in and performed miracles and made me believe again. Tile, granite, wood floors, waterfalls…there doesn’t seem to be anything they can’t do. I couldn’t recommend anyone with more authority and more gratefulness.

I’m a Seattle beat cop. You could say I’m a skeptic. I investigate things. These guys surprised me with their talent and enthusiasm. As much as I like Larry I liked the crew even better. They don’t smoke, they show up for work like a clock, great guys to be around. I’m blue collar. Everything these guys do is solid built and well planned. I have no tolerance for b.s…these guys are the the real meal deal…

My name is Nancy Malmgren. I’m 81 years old. I do a lot of community service work. I’m busy and somewhat fairly cranky. Larry and his men handled me with kid gloves and did wonderful work…it was more money than I was used to spending but it was worth every penny. They take the bull by the horns and I sincerely admire that.

Over the past 15 years Larry Lee has remodeled, repainted and generally held our house together. We have a craftsman home in Leschi that sits on a steep hill overlooking the lake. One year the basement fell off—literally! When the earthquake hit the 3 story chimney split in two. They took it in stride. When you meet the crew you’ll realize why we always use them. They’ve become good friends.

Larry Lee most certainly ranks among the top contractor/designers in the Pacific Northwest. Working with him I had a true sense of collaboration. He listens, has a great sense of spatial dimension and was able to somehow convert my ideas into a cohesive plan that works. I’m a very detail oriented person; Larry and crew were extremely patient with my extensive punch lists. In every case D. P. Palmer General Contractor met—or exceeded—my expectations. Thanks gentlemen!

The proof is in the pudding; Palmer did the interior/exterior cosmetic restoration necessary to sell our home in Medina. A lot of the restoration ideas came from them. The house sold in one day. If you want results and no baloney D.P. Palmer General Contractor is lethal.

My partner and I took on our first big painting job as new homeowners this week—painting our guest room that had a large, multi-textured, multi-colored mural over all four walls, closet and ceiling. We narrowed our search to two people we thought would do a good job, and made an initially ill-fated decision to go with “the other guy”.
“The other guy” didn’t show up on the day of the job, when I called the answer was “we’re on our way”. “The other guy” didn’t answer subsequent calls, and when his team finally showed up over two hours late they had no idea there was a problem, and “the other guy” still wasn’t with them as promised. “The other guy” had taken a pretty hefty deposit a few days before the job was to begin, and I was worrying the whole time it wouldn’t get returned. I felt taken advantage of, and unsure what to do next. I called the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General’s office, just trying to get some info on my consumer rights but no one answered. Feeling desperate, I called Larry hoping he would give me some advice—that was the decision that turned this nightmare around.
Larry was kind, explained my right to cancel the job without penalty, and offered to be in my corner throughout the process. He didn’t give me a hard time about not going with him in the first place, and lent his expertise without asking whether at this point we were planning to go with him. When I asked if he would still take our job, he and his guy were over here in 30 minutes getting it started.
The job has just finished up—right on time. It looks incredible, no evidence of the multi-colored mural or blue ceiling anywhere. Lines are perfect, superb attention to detail. I can’t believe how hard the one man crew worked to make this happen, or how fast it came together. The work ethic was impeccable, and I felt completely safe with him in my home.
Truly unbelievable on so many levels—Larry is the guy who knows what to do, how to do it, and shows up to get it done.
I know that for every job we have for our 100 year old home in the future, DP Palmer will be our first and only call.

Larry Lee and his crew at DP Palmer are, quite simply, the best home improvement experts I have ever hired. Larry is knowledgeable about every facet of home restoration – far beyond painting. I am preparing my home for sale and he and his crew have addressed every item my inspector called out – from roof and gutter repair to interior and exterior painting, electrical issues and beyond. They even secured my attic and addressed a foundation crack. I can’t explain what a relief it is to have found a “one stop shop” – a contractor who can handle every home improvement issue I have. Add to that Larry’s kindness, honesty and charm and it’s impossible to imagine a better general contractor. And his crew is on time, clean, courteous and a joy to be around. Did I mention that they are very competitively priced? HIRE THESE PEOPLE! You won’t regret it.

Larry Palmer is full of surprises!
When I called requesting an estimate, he met with me that very same day (no waiting) He did a thorough assessment of the necessary repairs. I had originally called for just a repainting of peeling trim paint (from a previous disappearing painter) and Larry was the only contractor who pointed out that I had rot in my two sky lights and just painting would eventually cause major rot in my roof. He was over the next day with a written estimate. Explained it all to me and was able to save some money with different ideas.
Then of all things, he prepared the schedule and was here when he said he would be!!
His crew was amazing. They were here (on time when Larry promised) worked till lunch, went right back to work and never wasted a minute of work time. They were polite, very careful with my plants and yard…… on the day they were finished they cleaned up every bit of sawdust., etc. and left my property just as it was when they arrived except that my house looked so beautiful, they did an awesome job!!
The topper was when I goofed and chose a horrible color for my front porch…..the job had been completed and Larry had been paid. I mentioned the porch to him and he insisted on ordering the right color and having his crew repaint the porch at no additional cost to me!!
All in all Larry was exceptional in his professionalism, knowledge, pride in his work and also has a fun sense of humor. I will never again worry about repairs on my home being done just right…….. I will call Larry!

I can’t say enough about the quality, service, professionalism and attention to detail that we received from DP Palmer.
We own a 19 unit apartment building that was in dire need of some TLC. Larry and his crew came in, picked out a stunning color and were not happy with the finish product until we were.
If you own a commercial or residential property, you owe it to yourself to hire DP Palmer.

My wife and I purchased a craftsman home in Queen Anne, Seattle built in 1920. We obtained a photo of its glory and dreamed of returning its original condition. Covered in bright yellow vinyl the condition of its cedar lap siding was unknown and we needed a company and crew who were meticulous in the details and delicate in restoration. After six long months of searching and interviewing contractors we found a diamond named Larry Palmer. We felt he had a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship of the era, our expectations and dreams, as well as our love of “our home” for which we plan to raise our children. Bottom line, the restoration was simply extraordinary. The vinyl covering was removed and the cedar lap siding was completely stripped of nearly 100 years of paint and grime. Understanding the health and welfare of my family, he went above and beyond protecting us during the lead paint removal including double sealing our windows form the inside so no dust entered the home. His team was dedicated to our vision and “restored” our home as if it was just built in 1920. It was simply unbelievable and was “too good to be true”. As such, I waited for the paint to bubble, for the house to leak, I waited for something bad to happen… nothing, other than a few paint cracks at the caulking joints on the south east side of the home that is exposed to most of the sun. And as stated in his word and sealed in a hand shake one year ago, Mr. Palmer and his crew were at my door step with one phone call. These expected small issues were restored immediately again in meticulous detail. And so, I have waited to make my recommendation now as Mr. Palmer has surpassed every expectation that we have had. This is not just a painting company, they are a restoration company. The hand cut old growth wood, precision craftsmanship of the early 1900s should not be handled by just any company. If you love your home as much as we do, hire Larry Palmer General Contractor.

Working with Larry and his crew was a real pleasure. My wife was 8 mo pregnant when we met Larry to discuss the renovation of our master bath. We had received bids from several other construction firms, all of which were above our budget and with estimated finish dates that weren’t at all feasible for us with a new baby on the way.
Larry was confident that he could meet our budgetary and time needs and wasted no time putting it in writing. Starting from day one, Larry and Justin worked through the details of the project with us, making sure everything they did was to our satisfaction. The crew worked long hours and many weekend days to get our project finished on time.
D. P. Palmer was able to make our vision a reality, giving us the bathroom we had always wanted.

D.P. Palmer did a fantastic restoration job on our house. We contacted Larry (owner) when we saw his sign in front of a house he was restoring down the street. Within a few days we had a signed contact and a start date. He offered excellent customer service with timely and responsive action to any questions and requests. The dramatic result of our restoration was so impressive, our neighbor down the street hired him.

D.P. Palmer General Contractor is a top notch company. Larry Lee and his crew give a 110% to the job. The customer service is excellent and Larry makes sure that everything is to the owner’s satisfaction before the job is complete. I was very impressed with D.P. Palmer General Contractor and would definitely recommend this company.

Impressive makeover! Our house looks like new after a siding and painting project. Not only did we get professional color consulting, the owner was on the job site daily, listened to our preferences and responded quickly to any issues which came up. Excellent crew, good workmanship, and competitive pricing. And if you are lucky like us, the boss may even personally paint your front door!

Larry and his crew have finished their job painting the exterior of our house. Everything looks far better than we expected. Larry has done everything he said he would and more. The workmanship and professionalism of the crew has been first-rate throughout the process. I notice the negative review–our experience has been completely the opposite. I expect to work with him again on other projects. I recommend him without reservation. PS, Check the “filtered reviews.” They will unanimously confirm what I am saying!

Wow!! we have had D.P. Palmer do work for us on at least half a dozen projects, from interior/exterior paint, to restoration, construction… We have had nothing but THE FINEST Work, craftsmanship, attention to detail and personal service from Mr. Palmer and his crew… He really has a special gift for selecting just the right color or stain. His crew is trust worthy, prompt and thorough…. We did have a few issues along the way, however, Mr. Palmer was forthright in addressing and FIXING any issues that we had. In fact, he actually caught something that could have gone unnoticed, and at his expense he fixed it…. How is that for service… I HIGHLY recommend this company for painting, Restoration and for Satisfaction.

We were extremely happy with the work that this firm did. We had a complete exterior paint job and siding restoration and we couldn’t be more pleased. We were referred to DP Palmer by a good friend and were not disappointed with the results—very thorough and friendly.

We hired Larry from DP Palmer restoration after a long list of previously failed painters to complete a year long construction ordeal with our house. To make a long story short, the exterior painting of our house was initially done incorrectly. After dealing with two previous painters, we hired Larry. From the very beginning he was timely, knowledgeable and communicative. He did extensive research to ensure the proper completion of the job. His crew proceeded to promptly start the work, and completed it with care. They did not rush to finish it as fast as possible while cutting corners on quality. If you are looking for a quality repair done right the first time, these are your guys. Larry and his crew exceeded our expectations and we plan to hire them in the future for any additional work on our house.

Larry Palmer and his crew are simply the best! I hired Larry based on recommendations from other people that had used his team to take over a studs out remodeling project that had gone completely awry. Larry and his team turned the project completely around and brought the entire project under control. His team is well versed in all aspects of remodeling! Larry came up with great suggestions on how to save money on the project – how often do you have a contractor that can do that? In addition when Larry commits to do something it gets done! If you have ever hired any type of contractor how often do they call you? Larry was in constant communication with me regarding any and all issues that came up during completion of the project – this is a rarity in this business where you are usually chasing down the contractor. I would recommend Larry and his team to anyone that wants a first rate quality remodeling project completed!

DP Palmer General Contractor just painted the exterior of our house in Snoqualmie, WA. We met with six different companies and from the beginning of the process we knew that we wanted to work with DP Palmer. Our house is only five and half years old and the original paint job was bad to begin with. Larry walked us through the process and his creative expertise was evident from our first meeting.
The house does not have the same interest as a true Craftsman style home from the 1920s and 1930s, but it still has some interest. Larry and his team highlighted details that had been lost by the use of a very interesting color scheme, the use of high quality products and excellent craftsmanship.
Too many contractors don’t care and want to come in and get out as soon as possible. Larry and his team are very busy, but they took the time to do the job right. By right, I mean a beautiful look and skilled applications.
Larry was more than flexible with changes we requested and he made some changes of his own. This is the best collaborative experience we’ve had with a contractor.
Our house looks gorgeous and is a real stand out amidst a sea of basic paint jobs. It’s more than a paint job. The house looks well-loved and is beautifully wrapped for us and passersby to enjoy. We highly recommend Larry and his team.
